Charlie Callas

Charlie Callas no frame.jpg

Charlie Callas was born in Brooklyn, New York to a Greek father and German mother. Although he began his career as a drummer, Mr. Callas soon found his way to comedy, where he was known for his nervous chatter and rubbery face. In addition to opening for Frank Sinatra and appearing on Season 2 of The Munsters, he appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson nearly fifty times. He was also a regular guest on The Dean Martin Celebrity Roast. Mr. Callas played only one dramatic role, that of Malcolm Argos in CBS detective series Switch (1973-75). His last television appearance was in 2008 in Larry The Cable Guy's Star-Studded Christmas Extravaganza. Mr. Callas died on January 27, 2011.
